The Local Community
The local community is very important in this day and age especially with the many news stories of how people don't support each other anymore. Half the problem is people nowadays are less out going, this could be blamed on the constant scare mongering by the newspapers and media that allow many people to feel unsafe in their own towns and villages.
The truth is that you are not likely to be attacked everytime you step outside your front door and those kids that hang around outside your local shop aren't looking to mug you, they just have no where to go or anything to do.
This is why I believe community websites are a good idea as they allow many people to raise issues in their local community such as North Wilts and discuss and meet with other people to see that the people living in their local community aren't as scary as they first thought.
The world wide web is a brilliant piece of equipment for helping society as a whole, whether that be finding the latest county council initiatives to finding charity christmas cards that wont keep most of the profits.
Recently I looked for an equine hospital online and discovered it on the local community website. I believe in alternative medicine and sought to discover a homeopathic vet that was In a practice that appreciated that many owners don’t want to have their animals treated with contemporary medicine on their pets, I understand how well homeopathy performs on fauna from my previous vets and wanted to know I could respect the latest one I lived near . I found that Endell Veterinary surgeons in Salisbury where incomparable for their expertise and cheery manner and are my preferred vet in Salisbury and south Wiltshire and couldn’t be more pleased.
If you are starting out as a regional business and want to get to your local community we have discovered a few excellent sites that allow you to discover neighbourhood information and place either your website and data on to it for free. When I was unemployed for a short amount of time I needed to find a job locally, I seemed to be able to find jobs Bournemouth and Dorset through uk recruitment agencies but nothing close enough. I then typed into the search engine on my PC ‘whats on in wiltshire’ and was supplied with a local community website offering salisbury visitor information and also local community information including jobs in salisbury. I was then able to talk to a local air conditioning installer, an IT consultancy and a Telecom consultancy within the space of a few minutes. Broad categories I know but I have had a interesting vocational route.
